DAVID KOMA

             Hey guys, Today I would like to talk about a Fashion Designer, David Koma. David Komakhidze known as David Koma is a Georgian Fashion Designer based in London, UK. He graduated in 2009 with a distinction in MA Fashion from Central Saint Martins after studying and completing his BA in Fashion Women swear in 2007.David is a 29 years old Georgian born. Koma has a younger brother and sister. His parents live in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

• He showcased his first collection at the age of 15 after studying Fine Art in Saint Petersburg. 
• He was the Vauxhall Fashion Scout’s Merit Award winner 2009. 
• In December 2013 he was appointed as creative director of Mugler.
• He will be replacing Nicola Formichetti, who left the company April this year to work for the Italian brand Diesel.

EARLY COLLECTIONS

Spring/Summer 2010 Ready-To-Wear

      

• David focused on a black and white base followed by adding a colourful palettes into his designs.

Spring/Summer 2011 Ready-To-Wear

  

• A series of dresses with a ripple of pleats making up their skirts to a backdrop of white and very light pink.
• Piano teeth skirts and graphic panelled dresses
• Maxi skirts took on the guise of fish tails with their waist encircled by peplum detailing and miniskirts beneath them.

RECENT COLLECTIONS

Spring/Summer 2015 Ready-To-Wear

 

• He focused on figure flattering dresses which accentuated the body-con aesthetic.The dresses had details like cut-out details,sheer panel details and asymmetrical hems. 
• He also focused on the pencil silhouette but the dressed with bouncy hems brought out another more relaxed.feminine silhouette.

•  Kylie wore a dress from David Koma's the Spring 2011 collection in Mexico to promote her new album “Aphrodite”.

• Rihanna wore this David Koma Spring 2010 orange and black dress when she performed the first ever concert on the Royal Caribbean’s ‘Oasis of the Seas’ cruise ship in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Miranda Kerr

• Miranda Kerr wore a dress from David Koma's Spring 2014 collections for the global debut of the 2015 Jaguar F-TYPE R Coupe at an exclusive event held at Raleigh Studios in Playa Vista City in California.

Conclusion

I think David Koma is amazing, be cause of his bold design. From his design and collections I can see his bright use of colour and bold use of shape. In his design I get a lot ideas and also learn a lot about Fashion.
